Transylvania Housing Trust

The Transylvania Housing Trust focuses on providing quality housing that is affordable for public sector teachers and other employees in Transylvania County. We do this by building homes with the support of other public and non-profit organizations, and private individuals.

Why affordable housing?

The demand for affordable housing in Transylvania County far exceeds the supply. With rising property prices and limited long-term rental options, many local workers and families struggle to find homes within their budget, leading to financial strain and displacement. This makes it difficult for local businesses, schools, government and non-profits to recruit and retain employees. Expanding affordable housing options for all workers, but in particular our essential workers, like teachers, is essential to supporting sustainable community growth in Transylvania County.
